Statement to Three-County Community Coalition regarding Eastern Plains Electric Power Transmission Route – 8.3.07

As a candidate for El Paso County Commissioner in District 2, I am watching this issue very closely.  I believe that it is incumbent upon the elected representatives in El Paso County to actively participate in the conversations regarding this transmission line and work to advocate on behalf of the people of the county.  The Three County Community Coalition’s proposed route has merit and our elected officials need to be studying the options and working to leverage their influence in this process.  The people of El Paso County count on their elected representatives to fight alongside them in matters which have a direct impact on their property, freedom and way of life.  Upon election to the Board of County Commissioners, I will do no less.
