CONGRATULATIONS TO AMY AND TO THE PEOPLE OF DISTRICT 2!!!! • Feb. 5th, 2008 – Statewide Caucuses • June 28th, 2008 - Falcon Area Issues Roundtable (F.A.I.R.) This group meets regularly to discuss issues affecting the Falcon area and has invited Amy to share with them once again. Please join this group from 9 - 11:00am at the Falcon Fire Station in Falcon, CO. • July 12th, 2008 - Town Hall Meeting! Join us from 10am to noon at the Falcon Fire Station in Falcon, CO. Amy will share several items from the Board of County Commissioners and answer your questions and concerns. Amy is scheduling town hall meetings every 8-12 weeks and encourages you to attend and learn more about your County Government. • July 19-26th, 2008 - EL PASO COUNTY FAIR! Don't miss this Summer's Hottest Ticket! Make plans to spend time at the El Paso County Fair. This time honored special week includes special events like the Ranchland Rodeo, Demolition Derby, Dock Dogs, Bulls and Bikes and Turtleville, just to name a few! Come out to buy livestock, ride the rides and see the hard work of our 4-H'ers and community members from around El Paso County. This is a special time for the whole family and supports this tradition within El Paso County. • August, 12th 2008 – Primary • August 16th, 2008 - Falcon Prairie Festival. This all day festival will celebrate the history of the town of Falcon. Make plans to enjoy the day with a parade, vendors and dancing! ATTEND YOUR CAUCUS Colorado is a caucus state which means that candidates who appear on the primary ballot are selected by delegates who are elected at their neighborhood caucuses. The caucuses, (neighborhood meetings of registered Republican voters within their respective precincts) will be held on the evening of (TBA). This is the heart of grassroots politics, the very basic level of electing our representatives at the local, state and national levels! The delegates elected at these caucuses then go on to vote for the Republican candidate of their choice at the County Assembly . Becoming a delegate gives YOU one of the strongest voices in this county! Becoming a delegate is easy, vital and requires a minimal time commitment but offers more to your candidate of choice than you can possibly imagine. You do not need to have any political experience to participate ; you must simply be a registered Republican. This is one of THE MOST IMPORTANT ways that you can support Amy at this time. There are 88 precincts in El Paso County, CD 2. In the coming months, we will be knocking and dropping literature on the doors of Republican voters in all of these precincts. We ask that you commit to walking your precinct when we reach that phase of the campaign. Lists, maps, materials and training, if necessary, will be provided to you. With your help, we can reach our goal of walking every precinct in Commissioner District 2! (Given the geographical size of this district, this could be a FANTASTIC fitness plan!!) Don't wait! Contact us and commit to walk your precinct today! HOST A COFFEE OR OTHER MEET-AND-GREET EVENT If you support Amy, please host an event in your home or business. Invite your friends, family and co-workers – your circle of influence – to meet Amy personally and ask the questions about which you are most concerned. We want you to know Amy, to understand what drives her and why she is so perfect for this role in our community. We want you to know why so many people are lining up to help her become elected and why she wants to serve. If you are not sure who you are supporting, please host the event as well! This is the perfect way to really get to know Amy and ask the questions you need answers to. We believe you'll discover what we already know – that Amy is passionate about making a difference in county government, that she has the experience and knowledge that she must have to take on this role and how respected and admired she is within our community. No event or gathering is too small or too large. We want you to make an informed decision and we ask that you take the time to ask the questions and meet Amy. Please contact the campaign and we will work with you to set up your gathering. It is important that people see the support that Amy has within our community. One method of accomplishing this is by having a steady stream of letters to the editor about why you support Amy and why she is best for this job! We would appreciate your help by being a member of our letter writing team! You may submit letters to the Gazette at opinion@gazette.com . BECOME A CORRESPONDENCE LEADER We are looking for supporters who will help send email blasts to their distribution lists. We would like to tap into supporters' email lists, not by obtaining the names of your contacts, but by letting you personally distribute Amy's campaign emails. We would also like to implement the “Christmas list campaign” by asking you to send out letters and/or postcards to your Christmas list, telling your friends and family in the district why you support Amy and asking for their support as well. We can help you with possible scripts and by providing postcards which you would fill out. It may not be everyone's favorite volunteer activity, but making phone calls asking Republicans to support Amy is critical to her campaign. There are several ways that you can participate in this volunteer activity: • You may receive a phone list and call script by email (or we will deliver them to you) and work from home. We simply ask that you make the calls within 48 hours of receiving the lists and report back to us the general results of the calls per the instructions on the call script. • You may arrange to come in to phone banks on special phone banking days. These will be scheduled and added to the Special Events calendar. Fundraising is the lifeblood of any campaign. Without funds to distribute information to voters, there is no way for Amy to get her message out and win the support that she needs to be elected. Amy has a great deal of experience in campaigns and managing a very tight campaign budget. Your efforts to donate personally and bring in funds from others as well will be met with responsible stewardship of those funds and clever ways to make campaign dollars go as far as possible! We are abundantly grateful for every dollar given and we remind you that there are no campaign limits in Amy's race. Your contribution will pay for things such as: critical mailers, postage, yard signs, banners, t-shirts, etc. Please help by talking to friends, family and/or business associates about contributing to Amy's campaign.
