Amy was born in Denver, Colorado in 1967. Raised in a small town in Nebraska, Amy has now lived in Colorado Springs for 23 years. Amy graduated from Rampart High School in 1986 and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Psychology. Amy has been married for 15 years and has 3 children. Her hobbies include camping, fishing and having a ball playing with her family. back to top
Professional/Community Involvement
Upon graduation from UCCS, Amy began work at Focus on the Family. Her first child was born in 1992 and Amy left work to stay home and raise her family. Being home allowed Amy to become involved in numerous local activities and build a wealth of experience and knowledge in a variety of areas. While her passion and main focus is in the political realm, Amy has found time to work in other areas including:
3 year Steering Committee member and participant in Mothers of Preschoolers Assistant T-ball coach for Colorado Springs Park and Recreation Substitute teacher for District 20 schools and the Diocese of Colorado Springs, teaching all subjects from Kindergarten through 12th grade. In 2005, Amy went to work full time for The Elevation Group, a consulting firm here in Colorado Springs where she handled all aspects of the office administration, including financial administration and worked closely with clients from all around the United States. Some of her work included analyzing client assessment data and writing summaries and recommendations for Senior Consultants as well as conducting client interviews and handling client marketing and branding assessments.
In January of 2008, Amy was elected by vacancy committee to fill out the unexpired term of the previous commissioner in District 2. She is currently serving as our commissioner here in District 2 and is seeking re-election through our caucus/assembly/primary system to her first full term as commissioner. back to top

Amy's political involvement in our community is extensive. Her passion for conservatism and the preservation and restoration of the principles of limited government and free market society guide her in every task she takes on.

Member of the 4th Judicial District Judicial Nomination Commission: Amy was appointed to this Commission in 2004. This 7 member commission is responsible for assessing and interviewing judicial candidates and submitting nominations to the Governor for appointment to the bench. Republican Volunteer of the Year, 2003 President of Cheyenne Mountain Republican Forum 2004-2007 Graduate of the El Paso County Citizen's Academy, 2006 Appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to the Citizen's Outreach Group, 2006 and elected Vice-Chair in 2007 Elected Vice-President of the Leadership Program of the Rockies, class of 2006/2007 Panel member for the Colorado Springs Police Department, Commander Promotion Strategic Interview Team, 2007: Amy was chosen to serve as one of three panel members to interview and assess candidates for promotion to Police Commander positions within the Colorado Springs Police Department. back to top
